This is an introductory course to enable students to develop basic IT skills. It will help students develop both new and existing skills which can be used for employment, study or recreational purposes. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as students who wish to further improve and develop their skills.

Students learning about computer basics
  • What you will study
    • Develop a basic understanding of Microsoft Word by creating a document, adding in writing and saving a document
    • Learn to copy, cut and paste on a word document
    • Select a printer, preview and print documents, print selections and multiple copies
    • Use the internet (introduction) and how to safely search for information using a search engine and navigate the web
    • Set up an email account, send an email with/without attachment, reply to an email from their peers, delete an email
  • Moving Forward

    After this course you can progress onto Microsoft Word Basics and Microsoft Excel Basics.

    • 12 weeks - September start date
    • 11 weeks - January and April start date
