Industry needs are at the heart of London South East Colleges' approach to working with employers and how we prepare young people for the future jobs market. To ensure that the latest thinking, innovation and planning are at the heart of our strategy, we have established a strategic sub-regional London South East Employment and Skills Board.
The board comprises 11 Industry Advisory Boards consisting of leading industry partners who provide strategic advice and direction on the future design and development of employer-led skills and training, from entry-level to degrees and higher-level apprenticeships.
These leading employers share industry-specific recommendations with the London South East Employment and Skills Board, which in turn provides a voice back to central and regional Government, influencing policy development, skills planning, and investment in that sector.
Employer Panels
These Academies involve Curriculum Team Managers working directly with employers to improve employer relationships and engagement with the College.
This collaborative approach to working with industry experts at a local and subregional level provides hands-on practical opportunities for our students to engage with their future employers. This is often done through work experience, onsite training, mock interviews, and, in some cases, co-designed and co-delivered curriculum programmes.
London South East Colleges has designed the unique Employer Advantage scheme to promote this opportunity to employers. This programme invites employers to work closely with students of all ages keen to develop their skills and actively contribute to the local economy in a format that suits the industry partner's company.

Our vision for this Board is to ensure that as London South East Colleges extends its reach across the southeast region and beyond, collectively, with our valued stakeholder partners, we are proactively leading on planning for skills, growth in apprenticeships, and future devolved funding discussions across the sub-region.
