Yesterday, 21st March, 30 London South East Colleges students attended the 'All Things AI' workshop at Orpington Campus, aiming to teach students about how to efficiently apply AI, and the career opportunities this exponentially growing field can provide.
Dexter Simms and Ali Mohamoud began the workshop by asking students about their current knowledge of different artificial intelligence programmes, as well as their general understanding of its applications in various industries.
They led students through an exercise which saw them identify a possible application for AI and develop their skills in writing prompts in order to obtain useful and relevant answers from AI programmes.
Students listened to the new career paths AI has created in recent years, as well as the future of artificial intelligence programmes in industries and legislation.
The session closed with Dexter encouraging students to take advantage of networking with professionals in this sector and providing details on how he could help provide them with possible opportunities going forward in their careers.
A further 30 students will be attending a second session with Dexter and Ali next week.
These workshops were funded through the Local Skills Improvement Fund.
