The former stay-at-home mum from West Wickham has been busy changing her life after many years looking after her children. Once her youngest child had progressed to full-time education, she decided it was time to engage in the ‘challenge of a lifetime’ and get her career back on-track.
Ruth said: “In the past, I’d had only good experiences at London South East Colleges. I had completed various different courses at the Bromley Campus including teaching assistance, secretarial and book-keeping. It was the latter of these that I had a real flare for and so I came in to get some advice about taking the full BSc (Hons) degree course in Accounting. The following September I was on-course and moving full steam ahead.
“I’m so ecstatic about achieving a first. It’s been the best thing I’ve ever done and I am so proud of myself for all the hard work I’ve put in. The tutors are superb; they are enthusiastic, energetic and really make you want to come back for more each week. My only disappointment is that the course is now over and I’ll miss coming here.
“I’d like to work as a management accountant but I now need to get some experience in the workplace before applying to do a Master’s degree. The course has already changed my life and will ultimately change it even further in the future.”
