This special annual event - Disability Day at Kia Oval - was held by Surrey Cricket Foundation and London South East Colleges' 'Team Impact' students volunteered to support it.

After receiving training from Kia Oval's Disability Development Officer, Neil Bunting, a week earlier, our students were able to support guests through numerous activities - including wheelchair cricket, visually impaired cricket, and table cricket.

The event was reflective of the 12-week Prince's Trust programme fantastic ethos, which emphasises the importance of fundraising, volunteering, and community service.

Keeva McGuire, Prince's Trust Student, London South East Colleges, says: "The team was ecstatic to be able to support members of our community and help spread the fun to the young people taking part. The day made us all realise how much our presence had impacted the guests. I'm determined to volunteer more in the future."

Team Impact's branded t-shirts were designed and printed by students from the previous Prince' Trust programme - Team Ambition. The students were praised by guests throughout the day, receiving rounds of applause and numerous high-fives in appreciation.

Sheromie Brewster, Prince's Trust Team Leader, London South East Colleges, says: "I have supported this event every year as it is a great opportunity for students to help others. Alongside other volunteers, we can support the cricket and sporting activities around the Kennington Oval. We look forward to supporting more events in the future."

Neil Bunting, Disability Development Officer, The Kia Oval, says: "Many thanks to Team Impact from the Prince's Trust for their fantastic support on Disability Day. Their energy and welcoming approach helped young people with additional needs to have a fulfilling and most enjoyable day. We welcome future opportunities to work with London South East Colleges' Prince's Trust programme."

The team had a lot of fun trying out numerous sports and activities throughout the day, as well as the pleasure of meeting Caesar the Lion, the Surrey mascot. Overall, it was an excellent, fun-filled day for the team to remember whilst positively impacting our community.
