We're committed to providing a student-focused learning experience at London South East Colleges, and our University Centre students have ranked us at 90% for overall satisfaction, smashing the national average and well above many universities. We're proud of the outstanding efforts of our staff throughout the year, and it is heartening to see those efforts recognised in the comments of the survey. Our position for student satisfaction has been rising year-on-year.
The survey gives students the chance to tell the world what's great about their course and about the college, as well as what could have been better. It's not just about lectures, but covers every aspect of academic life - resources, facilities, organisation, support and more.
NSS results are published nationally and are one of the measures which contribute to the main university league tables. They're also listed on the Unistats website, which links through from UCAS - providing prospective students with information on what current University Centre students feel about their time here. We scored higher than every single sector average, achieving highest satisfaction scores in the areas of 'teaching on my course', 'learning opportunities' and 'overall satisfaction'.
We've learned a huge amount throughout the year and there are many innovations and developments that will continue to improve student experience in the future, including our new University Centre in Orpington which will help us embed good practice, developments in Flexible Learning, and advances in the ways we deliver our programmes.
As always, we're looking at all the NSS data to understand our detailed performance in more depth. Every student who filled in the survey wanted to tell us something, positive or negative, and we're committed to learning from their comments to improve teaching and student experiences at London South East Colleges.
