In support of the initiative, London South East Colleges’ Hair and Beauty students based at its Bromley and Greenwich campuses are offering treatments to NHS staff working in Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust throughout the pandemic. These treatments will be offered by our vocational students, supervised by their expert tutors, as soon as we are able to re-open our salons to the public.
The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Workforce Organisational Development team will invite staff to nominate a colleague to pre-register their interest and choose a treatment at their preferred campus location. They will then be contacted directly and invited in as soon as the current Covid restrictions are relaxed.
Dr Sam Parrett OBE, Chief Executive and Group Principal said: “We know that this is an extremely difficult time for NHS staff who are under enormous amounts of pressure. We applaud the work the Royal Borough of Greenwich are currently doing to support them and we want to join the Authority in recognition of our NHS heroes and provide some much deserved ‘care for our carers’.
“Throughout the pandemic we have worked to support our communities in ways beyond just providing education and training. Project Hope is a natural extension of our desire to continue working in partnership and have a positive impact on the lives those who live and work in our local communities. We are delighted and thoroughly proud to support this fabulous action.”
