On Monday 16 May, London South East Colleges received an Excellence in End-Point Assessment Award from City & Guilds/ILM.
On presenting the award, Elizabeth Akinlaja, Business Development Manager, City & Guilds/ILM, said:
“We have presented plaques to a select group of our customers based on a pre-agreed set of criteria. We have analysed our EPA data and selected a small cohort of EPA providers that have met these criteria with evidence of volumes of distinctions and positive learner feedback.
“I am delighted to let you know that as a result of the high quality and standard of your apprenticeship provision, we are presenting you and your centre a personalised EPA plaque that you can feature within your training premises.
“We have analysed our data and due to the high pass rate and number of distinctions at your centre, we are pleased to provide an “Excellence in EPA delivery” plaque in recognition of your services.
Debra McDermott, Director of Apprenticeships and Distance Learning said:
“We are thrilled to receive the award.
“Under the previous apprenticeship framework, apprentices could only pass. However, with the new apprenticeship standards, apprentices can achieve a pass, merit or distinction. This development enables both the learner and the tutor to aspire and aim high.
“Lockdown affected the confidence of many of our learners. The award is not only a tribute to the challenges and barriers our learners have overcome, it also reflects their hard work and the commitment of our tutors. It is also testament to the rigorous processes that we have in place.”
