School students due to complete their GCSEs this summer – or those looking to continue into further education – are being invited along to an event at the College’s Bromley campus on Wednesday 23 February from 6-8pm.
The College will be offering a wide range of courses in Construction, Digital, Health and Business Administration, which will provide the perfect balance of classroom learning and real-world experience that provide young people with a head start towards their future career once they leave College.
London South East Colleges' Chief Operating Officer for Curriculum and Quality, Andrew Cowan, says:
“We believe T Levels are exciting new qualifications that equip students with the skillsets sought by employers, so that they are work-ready once they leave further education.”
“Young people have a fairly limited choice of educational routes. Subject choice and options are vast but it’s typically A-level if your school wants you or Vocational at college. T-Levels give everyone another choice and a chance to think differently about their future that includes real experiences. Many employers want candidates to have often unrealistic work experience, for even entry and graduate job roles. T-Levels really does help the student understand the industry of work they are getting into and where they fit in to it. That’s better for them and for employers, meaning work isn’t something you have to wait and do after your course. Even better, the option of university and Higher Education is still a valid and realistic option once you’ve achieved our T-Level.”
“T Levels offer a great solution to this problem, by bringing together classroom learning with industry placement (roughly 45 days) – providing young people with those all-important skills employers are looking for in a job sector they want to work in.”
