With a BEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Property Investment & Finance, Vince has over 30 years of experience in the property and construction sectors. Having worked in a range of private and public sector roles for organisations such as Kier Group (construction and infrastructure services); British Rail/Railtrack; Mace (largest independent firm of construction professionals); Grant Thornton and Ernst & Young (professional services), Vince has a proven track record of delivery.
Vince currently leads the MET’s Property Services Directorate, managing and maintaining all aspects of the Met’s estate. He is responsible for ensuring the estate is fit-for-purpose, efficient, compliant and resilient in supporting the operational needs for policing London. He is also Senior Responsible Owner for the Met’s £1.3bn Estate Transformation and Net Zero Carbon Programmes, whose scope goes well beyond property and involves significant business change, technology implementation, HR, Fleet and resilience across all police officer and staff roles. Since joining the Met five years ago, over £700m has been invested, under Vince’s leadership, in transforming the Met’s estate.
He also worked for the Mayor of London as the Director for City Operations for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where he was responsible for a £100m programme of works where he represented the Mayor on the Olympic Security and Games Transport Boards and presented quarterly updates on London’s preparations to the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees.
Vince has recently completed a second term as a mentor with the Amos Bursary, where he worked with talented young men of African and Caribbean descent to help them excel in education and beyond. He is also a father of three.
