Have fun drawing and learn fundamental techniques of drawing using a variety of drawing media.
Enrol and explore, record and demonstrate portrait art techniques in practical studio classes. You will have opportunities to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques including drawing, painting, pastel, collage and other media. The tutor will set projects that include developing observational skills, as well as drawing from the imagination. You will be encouraged to convey expression; as well as to explore preferences for different media. The course is suitable for beginners or people with previous experience.
This course uses Eco and Sustainable materials without needing a printing press. Students explore the possibilities of Monoprint, Collagraph (Collage Printing), Dry Point Etching, Lino Cut and Wood Cut.
This course is for everyone who wants to learn traditional and contemporary watercolour and mixed media techniques, including inks and gouache. Explore the fluid nature of traditional watercolour and experimental painting techniques. Drawing will underpin the course. Our theme will be rural and urban landscapes during the Summer Term course. We will go out on location in Greenwich, weather permitting and develop our sketches into larger paintings in the studio.
During this course, you will investigate, explore, record and develop art techniques through drawing, painting and mixed media activities. There will be opportunities to experiment with materials, including pencils, charcoal, paint, pastels, collages and other media. The tutor will set up projects that include observational skills and working from the imagination. You will be encouraged to express your preferences in different materials. You will be inspired by the work of other artists and current exhibitions and share ideas, artwork and your creative process with the other students.
